Earagail Arts Festival
Earagail Arts Festival is a bilingual (Irish and English language), multidisciplinary summer arts festival which traditionally takes place each July. The festival is threaded throughout County Donegal on the north-west coast of Ireland and along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Earagail first asked Dermot Flynn to design their festival image in 2012, and he has been asked to do four more since then.
Dermot says, “Earagail’s destival images are a delight to work on; looking at them now I can see so many influences from my formation as an artist and illustrator; Alphonse Mucha; Hieronymous Bosch; Shynola’s promo for Lambchop’s ‘Is a Woman’; Harry Clarke’s ‘Eve of St. Agnes’ window, Gustav Klimt. The posters are an opportunity for me to really extend myself as an artist and thus are amongst the favourite projects I have worked on down through the years.”
